Kirsty and Chelsie make England 2008 squad
Congratulations to Kirsty & Chelsie who after 40 games of England
trials at Bromborough & Madison Heights finished in the top six to
make the England 2008 squad.

September 8th & 9th the first weekend of
trials were played at Bromborough a new venue for our Whitstable
bowlers but that did not worry them as after the 20 games Kirsty was
in 4th place Chelsie in 11th place Harry in 13th
place and with points still very close there was a lot more hard
work to do.
Two weeks later the weekend of 22nd & 23rd September our bowlers
were off to more familiar surroundings at
Madison Heights in Maldon Essex. The first
day did not get off as planned with Kirsty’s dads car breaking down
on the M2. Luckily Gavin came to our rescue along with the green
flag and within no time we were back on the road.
Arriving a little late at the bowl it was straight on the lanes for
practice for the start of the second round of 20 games. Harry got
off to a great start but the competition at this level is always
going to be tough. After the final game Harry finished in 16th
place, something that he should be very proud of being one of the
top bowlers in the country and Whitstable YBC are very proud to!
Kirsty managed to continue her consistency throughout the final
games to finish 3rd with 493.5 points. Strong bowling
from Chelsie in the last few games put her in 6th place
with a total of 435 points.
