History
Our Whitstable YBC was
first started in 1963 by Brian Snook, the then bowl manager. He
achieved many honours during his reign.
1988/9 was when the Whitstable YBC became an NAYBC sanctioned
league. This was organised by the Whitstable Bowl Manager Gill Snook
and the then YBC president Earl Javis. Earl Jarvis has been the
longest serving Whitstable YBC president to date; 1988 to 1995.
In February of 1995 our very
first edition of the Gutter Press
was born. Founder and editor, Martin Beale, was then the YBC
treasurer. Martin went on to become the next president in the
September of that year ruling for the following 5 years 1995 to
2000.
Richard Lambkin took Whitstable YBC into the Millennium with a
further 4 years of reign, followed by Sue Lambkin to complete the
first 5 years of the century.
